29 Jan 2017

This Valentine season the censor board is in the mood to fall in love with love. Four romantic films have been cleared with virtually no cuts. First one off the shelf is Loveshhuda , a rom-com featuring Girish Taurani and debutante Navneet Kaur Dhillon on February 19. The film has been certified with a UA with no cuts. Though there were certain shots, dialogues and situations that were sexual in nature, the censor board raised no objection as the producer agreed to a UA However, the co-directors Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao of the other Valentine release Sanam Teri Kasam (which opens on 5th February) were keen on a U certificate. So they were asked to snip off small portions of their dialogues. Divya Khoslas love triangle Sanam Re featuring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela which opens on February 12 has been certified with a U and no cuts. Abhishek Kapoors Katrina-centric Kashmiri confection Fitoor , to release on February 12 has been cleared for release this Valentines Day with virtually no cuts. Says a source close to the development, Fitoor has been given no visual cuts. There were three abusive words which were deleted and replaced. But thats about it. The censor board feels no need to unnecessarily intervene. Says Pahlaj Nihalani , We saw no reason to cut anything in these romantic films. They are clean decent films. Even for Prakash Jhas Jai Gangaajal , we were willng to grant A certificate with no cuts. But Prakash Jha wanted a UA with no cuts.
