Another case filed in Supreme Court against Udta Punjab

14 Jun 2017

After fighting a valiant battle against the censor board in the Honourable Bombay High Court, the makers of the fiercely controversial Udta Punjab have now been dragged to the Honourable Supreme Court for allegedly insulting the Kanjar community. Amar Singh, a bank employee, has filed a writ petition in the Honourable Supreme Court against the release of Udta Punjab.Says Singh, We object to the dialogue, Zameen Punjab di banjar, putra Punjab de kanjar. Kanjar is a community to be found in Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, etc. The dialogue is a community-related abuse. Our petition in the Honourable Supreme Court is now being considered. Were hoping action will be taken.
