YRF denied permission to shoot flash mob sequence in Chandigarh

17 Jul 2012

Yash Raj Films, which have shot various memorable films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Veer Zaara and Bachna Ae Haseeno in Chandigarh, was denied permission to shoot for a flash mob sequence in the city for their film Mere Dad Ki Maruti.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti is a venture of Y Films, the youth projects division of YRF. The film has been shot entirely in and around the Chandigarh including Punjab University, where they shot over the weekends. The makers wanted to shoot a flash mob sequence in Sector 17 but were denied permission by the authorities, as the area is always very crowded and it could get very chaotic if a film shoot was held there. The makers chose Sector 17 as they wanted to capture the live reaction of the audience during a flash mob for the sequence but they will now have to look for some other alternative.
