17 Dec 2014

Popularly known for her role in the 1987 silent classic Pushpak, South actress Amala Akkineni has kept herself a little aloof from the Hindi film industry after she tied the knot with Telugu superstar Nagarjuna. However, now the actress will be seen in a Bollywood film once again which will be directed by Mohit Suri.

Suri's ambitious venture Hamari Adhuri Kahani will have Amala doing a special appearance. Though the details of her character are kept under wraps, we hear that it is a pivotal role that encompasses the theme of the film. Moreover, she will be singing and enacting the title/theme song of the film too. It is being said, that the film which gradually progresses from 90s to 2014, will also have Amala aging gracefully along with the changing eras. Excited about this development, Mahesh Bhatt mentioned that they decided to take Amala on board because of certain tranquility in her beauty and her character in the film is very similar to her real self. Moreover, he added that the actress will be the heart of the film representing a kind of romantic idealism.

Hamari Adhuri Kahani will have Vidya Balan playing the role of a floral designer for which she underwent special training. The film will be extensively shot in Kolkata, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Cape Town along with a schedule in Mumbai. Produced by Vishesh Films in association with Fox Star Studios, the film also stars Emraan Hashmi, Rajkummar Rao and it is slated to release on June 12, 2015.
