Vikramaditya Motwane shelves Sidharth Malhotra starrer Bhavesh Joshi

4 Feb 2015

Vikramaditya Motwane's Bhavesh Joshi seems to have faced yet another roadblock as the filmmaker has decided to put the film permanently on hold. After a change in star cast with Sidharth Malhotra replacing Imran Khan, now the film seems to have been shelved because Motwane believes that the script doesn't hold importance anymore.

The filmmaker had always maintained that Bhavesh Joshi deals with a common man with super powers who turns vigilante and helps people to get justice. And now, it seems that the film has lost its relevance because the film depicted the reign of a government which was in power previously and all the corruption and other issues that India was sinking into. However, the situation is changing with the rise of a new government. Agreeing to this, Motwane stated that it is too early to predict anything about the current situation since the new government needs time to prove its worth. However, for Vikramaditya the film holds a special importance and he has expressed his desire to make the film may be someday.

Though Vikramaditya Motwane maintained that timing now isn't right, he further added that, being a resident of this city (Mumbai) for years, he believes that it still lacks in many aspects and there needs to be improvement on infrastructure etc., considering that they are being ruined. Although the director-writer claimed that he has faith in the current government, he asserted that he may go back to the script and make Bhavesh Joshi if there is no improvement in the situation. As of now, the filmmaker will start working on another script but refused to divulge any details on the same.
