"Annu Kapoor is playing a genius but eccentric scientist in Mangal Ho" - Pritish Chakraborty

Annu Kapoor who had struck a chord with viewers and won several awards for his comic performance as a doctor in Vicky Donor , will now be seen in Mangal Ho , directed by Pritish Chakraborty, who has previously directed Chal Pichchur Banate Hain . Experimenting with yet another new role, Annu Kapoor will be seen in the role of an eccentric genius scientist in this comedy film. Elaborating on it, the veteran actor excitedly says, "I play a scientist and it is the first time that I'm getting an opportunity to talk about the film. This scientist is attempting to figure out if Mars can be colonized. And at the same time, we are trying to find out if there is Mangal (goodness) in life." Kapoor had played a North Indian doctor in Vicky Donor and his humorous dialogues were one of the reasons for the success of the film. Filmmaker Pritish Chakraborty too reveals a few details about Annu's character in the film saying, "This character is also North Indian but this scientist is completely mad. So the mission he envisions is something that today's scientists will think 50 years later. The 'Mangal Ho' mission is a creation of his imagination. He wants to become the God of Mangal. His ambitious efforts are blocked by everyone but his madness and wildness boosts him to give a try to this unachievable mission." Pritish and Annu Kapoor are very gung-ho about this futuristic concept. " Mangal Ho is a musical romantic comedy film which attempts to figure out if Mars can be colonized to start a civilization there.The main theme of Mangal Ho is to send a couple to Mars and start a civilization over there. In real life, people are still working on it but he has already begun this mission with this film," says Chakraborty.

While Pritish is very happy about having an award winning actor and comedian like Annu Kapoor on board, Annu too is all praises for his director. Talking about working with Pritish, Annu says, "A young, talented, creative, full of life director is working on an effective subject in order to make a great film. So there was no question of refusing him." From what we hear, Annu Kapoor was more than happy to play this character since being a science student, he was fascinated with scientists like Thomas Edison, Madam Curie, Isaac Newton among others. And he deeply reveres the efforts and thinking scientists put in for various inventions which has pushed the welfare of mankind.

Interestingly, director Pritish Chakraborty is also reportedly going to act in Mangal Ho. Produced by Ascent Films Pvt Ltd, the next shooting schedule of the film will begin in August.
