He may be burning the midnight oil looking into his work as the censor board chief. But Pahlaj Nihalani has not forgotten his duties and obligations as a filmmaker. Not only is he ready with his next production Avatar, he is all set to produce and direct a lavish costume drama scripted by the much in-demand Tamil writer K V Vijayendra Prasad who is the father of the Tamil-Telugu super-director S S Rajamouli.

The father-son duo have given many hits in Tamil and Telugu. Vijayendra Prasad has also scripted the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan . Nihalani bought Vijayendra Prasad's script after hearing the plot. The film is based on the controversial demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. It tells the story of a protagonist named Kabir and his experiences after the Demolition.

Says Nihalani, "I knew Bajrangi Bhaijaan was a sure-shot blockbuster. When I heard the plot-line I was bowled over. I wanted to work with Vijayendra Prasad. He is a brilliant writer. He and his son Rajamouli are to Tamil-Telugu cinema what O P Dutta and his son J P Dutta were to Hindi cinema."
