Last seen in Happy New Year , Sonu Sood has now been roped in for an Indo-Chinese film titled Xuan Zang. The film has the actor playing the role of famous King Harshavardhan.

The actor will be playing a prominent role and recently wrapped up the shoot of the film in Daulatabad Fort, Aurangabad. Sonu Sood mentioned that he agreed to do this project because he was always fascinated with period drama and wanted to do one after Jodhaa Akbar. He further added that it was his mother's books that helped him in the research for this role since she was a history professor.

Xuan Zang revolves around a Chinese scholar who recorded some of the most relevant parts of Indian history in his works.

Sonu Sood was seen in Ashutosh Gowariker's historic love story Jodhaa Akbar in the role of Jodhaa's cousin Sujamal.
