Here's why Ekta and Shobha Kapoor aren't credited in Great Grand Masti

Yesterday evening we saw the trailer launch of the third instalment in the Masti series titled Great Grand Masti. While the trailer did perk up out interest in the film, what caught our attention was the fact that neither Ekta Kapoor nor her mother Shobha Kapoor has been credited as producers of the film. Instead Sameer Nair and Aman Gill who work in Balaji have taken their place as producers.

Talking about the reason behind both Ekta and Shobha Kapoor's names being missing from the credits, a source close to the production house says, "This phase of Ekta and Shobha Kapoor not taking credit started from the days of Kya Kool Hain Hum . In fact Shobha was not comfortable with her name being featured as a producer especially on sex comedies and hence decided to not feature in the credits. Simultaneously, Ekta being who she is (read: as superstitions as she is) didn't want her to be there without her mother's name in the credits and hence decided to forgo the same. But since it is an Alt Entertainment film, Sameer and Aman have been credited as producers." As for the film itself, Great Grand Masti that is co-produced by Maruti International, ALT Entertainment and Shri Adhikari Bros features Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani in lead roles alongside Sonal Chauhan, Sana Khan, Mishti and Ankita Shorey. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film is slated to release in July 2016.
