Shatrughan Sinha is not a part of daughter Sonakshi Sinha starrer Akira

Earlier we had mentioned that for the first time we will get to see the father-daughter duo, Shatrughan Sinha and Sonakshi Sinha coming together for the film. However, it seems that there is still time for us to get a glimpse of them on screen. Apparently, Shatrughan Sinha is not a part of Akira anymore. Shatrughan Sinha was supposed to play the role of Sonakshi Sinha's onscreen father in Akira. But, now we hear that the actor turned politician was finding it difficult to squeeze in time amidst his other work commitments. However, we hear that the veteran was also very impressed with the work of filmmaker A R Murugadoss. While it is being said that Sonakshi is looking out for another opportunity where she can work with her father, Mithun Chakraborthy has been roped in to play the father in the film.

Directed by A R Murugadoss, Akira also stars Anurag Kasyap, Konkana Sen Sharma, and Amit Sadh among others and is slated to release on September 2.
