Javed Akhtar slams Naseeruddin Shah over controversial statement on Rajesh Khanna

There isn't a day in the film industry when a celebrity has not landed in some kind of controversy. Latest celebrity under fire is Naseeruddin Shah who received major backlash when he had said that veteran actor Rajesh Khanna was responsible for bringing mediocrity in the industry. Since the controversial statement, many film fraternity members have openly criticized Naseeruddin Shah's words including daughter Twinkle Khanna and filmmaker Karan Johar.

Recently in an interview, Javed Akhtar slammed Naseeruddin for saying harsh things about Rajesh Khanna. He said that Naseeruddin Shah did not like successful people. He had also criticized Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. Lastly, Akhtar added that he had never heard him praise any successful person.

Even Akshay Kumar, who happens to be son-in-law of Rajesh Khanna, refused to react on this subject and asked media to move on from this issue. Though Naseeruddin Shah had apologized right after things took a bad turn, it doesn't seem like this controversy is going to end anytime soon.
