Aamir Khan reveals how he got 'Mr Perfectionist' tag

25 Apr 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 25 : Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is known as Mr Perfectionist. But have you ever wondered how he got this tag?In the upcoming episode of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', Aamir Khan will be seen marking his presence, sharing anecdotes from his life. During the conversation, he also revealed that it was veteran actor Shabana Azmi who gave him Mr Perfectionist tag, as per a note shared by the Netflix team. It dates back to the time when Aamir was shooting for Dil which was directed by Indra Kumar and the cameraman was Baba Azmi. They were having a deep discussion about films at Baba Azmi's house when Shabana Azmi offered Aamir tea and asked how much sugar would he take in his tea.Super engrossed in his conversation, Aamir turned to her and said "How big is the glass?" When she showed him how big the cup was, Aamir, still engrossed in the ongoing conversation, trying his best to answer her accurately, said, " Chamcha kitna bada hai?" and finally requested for one spoon of sugar in his tea. He spoke about how Shabana Azmi went around telling people about this incident saying if you ever ask Aamir for sugar in his tea, he will first ask you for the cup size and that's how he got the Mr Perfectionist tag. Meanwhile, on the film front, as a producer, Aamir is coming up with 'Lahore 1947', which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. It is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol and Ali Fazal are also part of the film.Sunny and Aamir have never worked together before. But the duo have had very iconic box-office clashes as competitors in the past, where both have eventually emerged victorious. The first iconic clash at the ticket window was witnessed in 1990 when Aamir Khan's Dil and Sunny Deol's Ghayal were released on the same day. Then, in 1996, it was 'Raja Hindustani' vs 'Ghatak' followed by the most epic Box Office clash of Indian cinema in 2001 when 'Lagaan' was released on the same day as 'Gadar'.Now, for the very first time, the duo has come together and joined hands on a project.'Lahore, 1947' also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, 'Andaz Apna Apna'.

22 Apr 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 22 : Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on Monday evening launched a new rendition of his iconic song 'Papa Kehte Hain' from 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', his debut film as a lead actor.Titled 'Papa Kehte Hain 2.0', the track is from 'Srikanth' film, which features RajKummar Rao. He is an Indian entrepreneur who founded Bollant Industries, employing unskilled and differently-abled individuals. Born visually impaired in 1992 near Hyderabad, his life story is inspiring. In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Rao spoke about the challenges of depicting a visually impaired person on-screen and why he decided to do the film.He said, "I found Srikanth Bolla's story very inspiring. Born in a very poor family, how he achieved so much in his life, that he established a million-dollar company. Apart from that, he is also visually impaired. I have never played such a role, so it was very challenging for me. I felt that it would take a lot of fear to do it, but when you feel fear, you will enjoy it."Talking about his preparation work, he added, "The preparation was very important for this role. We used to go to blind schools for hours. We used to spend time with real-life visually impaired people. So to see and observe a lot from them, also to know about their life, that how they see the world. I spent a lot of time with Srikanth. Because we are putting his life on the screen. So to understand things from him, how he used to see things, how he made a decision. I got a lot of information from him."Produced by T-Series and Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP, the movie is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit. 'Srikanth' is slated to have a theatrical release on May 10, 2024.

Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan opens up about feeling 'crippled' by her fears

21 Apr 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 21 : Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan who has often spoken up on mental health issues recently opened up about her fears in a heartfelt post.Ira on Saturday took to her Instagram handle to share a series of slides that read, "I'm scared. I'm scared of being alone. I'm scared of being helpless. And of feeling helpless. I'm scared of all the bad things in the world (violence, illness, apathy). I'm scared of being lost. Scared of being hurt. Scared of being muted. Not always. Not every day. You'll see me laugh, work, live. But when I'm scared... it cripples me. Fear often feels worse than the thing itself. The tangible, we can overcome. The fear is endless and as powerful as our imaginations."View this post on InstagramA post shared by Ira Khan (@khan.ira)She further added, "I forget that I'm loved by very capable people who will find me if I'm lost. Take care of me if I'm hurt. I forget that I'm a capable person. There's not much to do about that. Fear has that effect. What helps me is to find someone else (or a song, movie, anything) that either physically makes me feel safe or reminds me of the things I've forgotten, giving me hope and patience for this fear to pass. Ideally, I do both."For the unversed, Ira had earlier shared her struggles with mental health on social media and various public platforms. She also established the Agatsu Foundation, which focuses on promoting mental health awareness and support. Ira is the daughter of Aamir Khan and his first wife, Reena Dutta. The former couple also has a son named Junaid.Recently, the actress married her long-time boyfriend Nupur in a traditional Christian wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan, after solemnising their relationship via a registered marriage at Taj Lands End, Bandra, in Mumbai on January 3.

"Deepfake se bacho doston": Ranveer flags deepfake alert after AI video endorsing political party goes viral

19 Apr 2024

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 19 : After superstar Aamir Khan flagged a deepfake video of himself, a purported election pitch for a certain political party; actor Ranveer Singh has become the latest victim of the menace sweeping the industry. A video of the actor of 'Padmaavat' fame recently surfaced online in which he is purportedly heard voicing his political views. However, it now turns out that the video was made using an artificial intelligence voice clone of the actor. While the video, from the actor's recent visit to Varanasi, appears genuine, the audio is of a AI-enabled voice clone of Ranveer. The actor, married to Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone, recently turned showstopper along with another prominent industry face, Kriti Sanon, at an open-air fashion show by the Ganges in Varanasi. The show was organised by top couturier Manish Malhotra.During his visit to the ancient city, which happens to be one of the world's oldest pilgrimage sites, Ranveer spoke highly of the changes that have come about in terms of the public infrastructure overhaul while also sharing his 'divine' experience of the city.Taking to his Instagram Story on Friday, Ranveer dropped a post in which he wrote, "Deepfake se bacho doston (Friends, beware of deepfakes)."While the post had nothing on the clip doing the rounds of social media currently, it was evidently in response to his deepfake video.Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer will be seen reprising his role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty's cop drama 'Singham Again', which also stars Deepika Padukone, actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Kareena Kapoor Khan.Ranveer will also headline Farhan Akhtar's 'Don 3'. Don 3' will arrive in 2025.While announcing the film, Farhan requested the audience to give the same love to Ranveer as they showered on previous Don installments."In 1978, a character created by Salim-Javed and portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan with effortless elan, captured the imagination of theatregoers across the country. That enigmatic character was Don. In 2006, Don was reimagined and brought to life by Shah Rukh Khan in his own irresistibly charming way," he wrote."The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan," the post further read.
