Aggarwal, who shared a close relationship with Raju Srivastav, have mourned the demise of the late comedian.Anand Pandit, who has known Raju since around 1998 and has helped the comedian by promoting him over the years, said, "I am in tears. He was one of those souls that always touched my heart. I still remember that around the year 1998, he came to me asking for a break. Just the things he talked to me about for 10-15 minutes in my office made me realise that he is going to be very successful, that is how I started promoting him."He added, "Two months back there was a party at my place, there till 2 am he made people laugh. He has always spread happiness and never said no to me for anything. He was such a good person that I am lost for words. I am just in tears."Meanwhile, T.P. Aggarwal remembered Raju by praising his work and acknowledging the comedian's achievement. He said, "Ever since I have come to know about Raju Srivastav Ji's demise my heart has been broken because I knew Raju Ji for 25-30 years. The name he has made for himself in the field of comedy and his achievements like being the Chairman of Noida Film City are all the results of effort and labour. He was a very nice and sober man, a lovely person. What more can I say, all I have are condolences for his family and wherever his soul is, may God take care of him."Raju has been in the entertainment industry since the 1980s and shot to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' in 2005.The comedian died on September 21 after 41 days of hospitalisation at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). But after reading this script, we realized that there were so many lesser known yet pivotal points in his formative years that made him the legend he became. With such a talented team in place, I am sure we will deliver an insightful and an engaging film on a scale and grandeur of an international project."We have all grown up listening to the stories of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and as a filmmaker and an admirer of his heroism; I wanted to dive deep in the lesser-known aspects of his glorious life. We will wait out the COVID-19 spike to release Chehre on the big screen, says Anand Pandit

15 Apr 2021

Just as the film industry was showing signs of recovery from the massive economic impact of the 2020 lockdown and learning to adapt to the pandemic by going back to work and screening films in theatres, a fresh spike in COVID-19 cases has left it gasping for breath again. Many new releases all set to grace the silver screen have now been postponed and one of them is veteran producer Anand Pandits labour of love, Chehre. The Rumy Jafry directorial has faced numerous delays due to the pandemic and having surmounted them, the film was all set to release this April amid rising media buzz and intense audience curiosity.Says Pandit, The film has created so much buzz because of its star cast, its stunning international locations and an obviously dramatic and suspenseful theme. We have been approached by OTT platforms that want to stream Chehre with a grand, publicity-fuelled premiere but this is a larger-than-life film that merits the silver screen. That is why I would like to wait out the current COVID crisis to give the film the theatrical release it deserves. I am a patient man and an optimist as well!Chehre is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited. it also stars Krystle D'Souza, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor, Annu Kapoor, Dhritiman Chatterjee and Raghubir Yadav.

Will Chehre release as per schedule on April 9? Decision to be taken post Holi, says producer Anand Pandit

27 Mar 2021

The cases of coronavirus in the country have been increasing significantly, especially in the state of Maharashtra. Yesterday, 36,902 cases were recorded in Maharashtra and naturally, it has led to a lot of apprehension in the trade since the state consists of the crucial markets of Mumbai and Pune. Meanwhile, the state government declared a night curfew in the whole of Maharashtra from Sunday, March 28, 2021. The details of the curfew are not yet out but the government has made it clear that malls have to be shut between 8:00 pm and 7:00 am. With most multiplexes located inside malls, it means that the last show of a film will be held at 5:00 or 5:30 pm. This along with the 50% occupancy rule would mean that the collections would be poor across Maharashtra. And that can be detrimental not just for big but even mid-sized films. An interesting medium-budget film thats about to release is Chehre. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, it is scheduled to release on April 9. Even before the night curfew was announced in Maharashtra, there was buzz in the trade that the intense thriller might get postponed by a week. A trade source says, Bunty Aur Babli 2 was scheduled to release on April 23 but has been indefinitely postponed due to the Covid-19 situation. The makers of Chehre are also thinking of pushing their film from April 9 to April 16, especially if the existing situation continues. The film carries got good buzz and the trailer is promising. Its important that it arrives at the correct time so that it can do well at the box office. When contacted, the producer of Chehre, Anand Pandit, denied that the film has been postponed. He told this writer, We havent made a decision yet. Well take a call after the festival of Holi.He also made it clear, Well take a decision not just in the interest of our film but also in the interest of the audiences.
