Guns and Gulaabs teaser: Rajkummar Rao talks about man's dark side in Raj, DK's project

24 Sep 2022

Netflix has finally unveiled a teaser of Raj and DK's 'Gun and Gulaabs', which stars Rajkummar Rao and Dulquer Salmaan in the lead roles.Inspired by the misfits of the world, 'Guns & Gulaabs' is a story that depicts love and innocence, set in a world of crime. The series is set to uniquely blend the romance of the 90s with a crime thriller while effortlessly lacing it in humour. The teaser begins with Rajkummar Rao crying but at beating someone. He is seen talking about one's dark side in the background. Glimpses of Dulquer as a policeman are also visible in the clip. Adarsh Gourav has also marked his presence. Seemed like he is playing a thug in the project.Speaking about their upcoming zany, pulpy series, team Guns & Gulaabs said "Ever since we announced Guns & Gulaabs as part of our larger collaboration with Netflix, we've been waiting to share a glimpse of this wicked genre mash. Working with some of the finest actors and crew to build this comic crime thriller was crazy fun! And we're sure audiences are going to love watching it as much as we loved making it."The teaser was unveiled at Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event on Saturday, September 24 on Netflix India's YouTube channel.

Amit Mistry was currently working on Raj-DKs period web series, directed by Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve

23 Apr 2021

Updated: Apr 23, 2021 - 12:30 PM IST Just sometime back, the industry and fans got a major jolt as news came in that actor Amit Mistry has passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The character actor had given several memorable roles due to which he had a unanimous acceptance among all sections of viewers. He began his acting career in films with Kya Kehna (2000) and then followed it with a fine performance in Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local (2007). Recently, he was seen in 2020s acclaimed musical web series, Bandish Bandits. As Devendra Rathod, the actor won hearts and proved that he was one of the finest actors.Amit Mistry was a favourite of director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. They worked with him thrice, in (2009), Shor In The City (2011) and A Gentleman (2011) and in each of these films, he rocked the show. In fact, it was that actually brought him into limelight.Speaking to this writer, Krishna DK said, Its terrible, terrible, terrible news. We are still processing this sudden development. He added, We have done three films with him before and he was also a part of our current series that we are producing and which is directed by Rahi Anil Barve. Until just before this current lockdown, we were shooting with him. With Amit Mistry no more, it puts a question mark on how the team would now progress ahead with the shoot. The said web series is helmed by Tumbbad (2018) director Rahi Anil Barve and is reportedly titled Ashwalinga. As per reports, this Amazon Prime show also stars Kunal Kemmu, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee and is a period comic caper set in the times of Kama Sutra.Meanwhile, Amit Mistry also worked in the horror comedy Bhoot Police, starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam. Its shooting is complete and is scheduled for release on September 10, 2021.
