Producer Karim Morani has tested negative for COVID-19 and was discharged from Nanavati hospital, Mumbai. He produced had no symptoms of Coronavirus but was kept in an isolation ward after both his daughters Zoa Morani and Shafa Morani were tested positive for the novel virus. Karim Morani said that he tested negative twice and was sent home. He praised the government officials and medical staff for taking good care of him while he was in the hospital. He will be now in quarantine for the next 14 days. He said that he is thankful for all the prayers and well wishes. Morani is known for having backed films such as Ra.One, Happy New Year and Dilwale, in association with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. They had concluded a trip from Sri Lanka and Rajasthan and were admitted as soon as they got the results. It was only a couple of days ago that Zoa and Shaza took to their social media to announce that they are heading back home after testing negative for COVID-19. Now, the family is tensed for Karim Morani as he has tested positive yet again but is still not showing any symptoms, so far. He is 60 years old and has a heart condition, the man has also suffered with two cardiac arrests and has tested positive for the first test under the Coronavirus treatment. Actress Zoa Morani had recently tested positive for coronavirus. In an interview with a daily, Zoa spoke about her experience. Two days after she tested positive, her father, producer Karim Morani also tested positive. Talking about her days in quarantine, Zoa said that in the past few years she has been quite a loner and was spending most of her time at home. However, with the lockdown in place, the actress has been feeling the urge to socialise. She said that the self -quarantine period made her the exact opposite of a loner as she began to talk to old friends and made new friends on social media. Zoa who is isolated in a hospital room says that the only thing that has changed is the venue. She describes her current life as a drama where things keep unfolding one after the other. The actress said her daily routine starts at 6 am when she wakes up and does pranayam. Apart from binging on movies and web shows, Zoa said that exercising is what is keeping her going on.

Producer Karim Morani, who bankrolled Chennai Express, has revealed that his daughter Shaza Morani has tested positive for Coronavirus. The producer revealed that she has been admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. The Morani brothers (Aly, Karim, and Mohamed) live with their families at Juhu. After the COVID-19 diagnosis, their houses have been kept under lockdown. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials will reach the Morani household on April 6 to check the rest of the family members to check if they are showing any symptoms. Karim sent out text messages to people whom he knows in the vicinity. His message reads, "Dear All, Shaza, my daughter, has tested COVID-19 positive without any symptoms at all, although she has been in isolation and not mingled with any foreign travellers. Since we are all law-abiding citizens, it is my duty to inform the authorities and you all, being in the closest proximity to you. We are admitting her to isolation in Nanavati Hospital. The municipal authorization committee will come to talk to you tomorrow (6th April) morning at 10.30 a.m. for briefing all and checking if anyone has any symptoms. Please do as you feel deem fit. We are sorry to cause this inconvenience. Would request to keep it confidential please, for all of us." After reports of Karim Morani being accused of rape, his nephew Alim Morani is now embroiled in a scandal involving adultery. Alim, who is the Executive Director of Cineyug Group of Companies that run film and television production houses, has been charged of adultery by a British Airway employee for his alleged relation with the latters wife. The British Airways employee has lodged a complaint against his wife as well as Alim Morani at Andheri East Police Station [in suburban Mumbai] as well as has also filed for divorce from his wife at Parsi Matrimonial court at Bombay High Court. His wife is apparently a small time actress and model, who came in contact with Alim Morani owing to his association with the entertainment industry, and their affair came into light when her husband, the complainant, came across her laptop. The complainant has also further claimed that he holds evidence of his wifes illicit relation with Morani which includes photographs and WhatsApp messages. Reportedly, the complainant had also written in the filed petition about the trauma he has been undergoing owing to his wifes infidelity. While the complainants advocate Shoaib Memon confirmed on the matter he didnt divulge details owing to sub judice, reports have it that the Morani family has been vehemently denying accusations claiming that it is an attempt to extort money from them.
Bollywood producer Karim Morani, who has co-produced Shah Rukh Khan s RA One and Chennai Express , surrendered to police in connection with a rape case hours after the Supreme Court dismissed his bail plea, authorities confirmed on Saturday, September 23. According to the officials, Karim Morani surrendered at the Hayathnagar police station on the citys outskirts around midnight on Friday. On Saturday, Morani was produced before a court later on the day before a magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody till October 6. He was lodged in Cherlapally jail on the city outskirts. On Sunday, September 24, the Rachakonda police of Hyderabad took Karim Morani into custody for interrogation. The Bollywood producer was later subjected to a potency test at Osmania General Hospital, before producing him before a local court which sent him to judicial remand. The police had filed a petition due to which the court granted police five-day custody. Karim Morani was taken into the custody on Sunday for questioning. The police said that their aim was to gather more elicit information from Morani about the rape case as they already have evidence against him. Karim Morani is facing the charge of raping a Delhi-based 25-year-old aspiring actress from theatre, who alleged that he repeatedly raped her and threatened to share her nude images and videos on social media. The police had booked him in January 2017 under sections 376 (rape), 342 (wrongful restraint), 417 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), 493 (cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage) and 354-C (voyeurism) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The Chennai Express producer was arrested in a rape case filed against him by a 24-year-old, Mumbai-based theatre artist, who happens to be a friend of his daughter Zoa. The girl, who had filed a case against him, had accused Karim Morani of sexually exploiting her and also threatening to leak their intimate pictures online. According the reports, the case was registered at Hayatnagar police station where the investigating officers are waiting for the Call Detail Record (CDR) between both Morani and the victim to confirm whether or not the producer was present in Hyderabad when the alleged rape happened at a renowned film studio back in 2015. Three days ago, Karim Moranis team moved ananticipatory bail petition before IV additional metropolitan sessions judge of Ranga Reddy district. On Monday (January 30), the court granted anticipatory bail along with a few riders after hearing arguments of both the victim and the accused. In its order, the court said, The petitioner (Karim Morani) is entitled for anticipatory bail. In the event of the arrest of the petitioner, the petitioner shall be released on bail on his executing personal bond of 50,000 with two sureties for like sum each to the satisfaction of the investigating officer. Further, the petitioner shall cooperate with the investigating agency and shall attend before the investigating officer as and when required and shall present before the court whenever required by the investigating officer for further investigation in the matter.
