(West Bengal) [India], February 22 : Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar met veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty on the sets of 'Shastri' in Kolkata. On Thursday, Madhur took to Instagram and shared a video and photos where he can be seen talking with Mithunda. The video starts with Madhur saying, "I am currently in Kolkata on the sets of 'Shastri,' and I am delighted to be with none other than the great Mithun Chakraborty, Mithun da."Mithun, sitting next to Madhur said, " I have known this man since his young age." He added, "He used to sell video cassettes. My wife would call him and say, 'Madhur I need this cassette,' and he would come. Now look, this man is a five-time National Award winner. This only happens when your dream comes true. I always tell people that your dreams should come true. Hard work and all will happen, but dreams should come true".Madhur expressed his admiration for Mithunda, saying that he has been a fan for quite some time. He also praised Mithun for his professionalism, highlighting that the actor always paid him on time and even provided advances when needed.Along with the post, Madhur wrote, "I met @mithunchakrabortyofficial in #Kolkata and was thrilled to see him back on set, in great health. My bond with Mithunda dates back to my teen years when I used to deliver video cassettes. He has always been a source of courage and inspiration. #fanboy #MithunChakraborty." Recently, Mithun has been admitted to a hospital in Kolkata.He reportedly expressed uneasiness on his return home from a film shoot and was rushed immediately to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

He was 91.According to his son Rajil Sayani, the iconic radio presenter suffered a heart attack on Tuesday night, after which he was taken to the HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, where he breathed his last.Ameen Sayani was born on December 21, 1932, in Mumbai and over the years became famed for his melodic voice and fascinating flair. Starting off as an English-language broadcaster, he soon switched to Hindi.Sayani became extremely well-known for his popular radio show 'Binaca Geetmala', which entertained people over a long period.Sayani's Geetmala showcased well-known Hindi film music, captivated listeners and became a national phenomenon."Namaskar bhaiyon aur behno, main aapka dost Ameen Sayani bol raha hoon," his distinctive introduction became instantly recognised and began to be copied.He had produced, compered (or spoken for) over 54,000 radio programmes and 19,000 jingles since 1951.Hamid Sayani, Ameen's brother, introduced him to All India Radio, Bombay. Ameen Sayani began his stint with Radio Ceylon in 1952. Madhur Bhandarkar feels honoured to receive an invitation to attend the consecration ceremony of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya.Speaking to ANI, Bhandarkar said, "It will be an important occasion for all Indians. I have been invited to attend the ceremony and I am extremely excited to be there on January 22. I wish the whole world celebrates the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir."The ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 22, 2024.As per sources, BJP workers have been instructed to set up large screens for the live telecast of the Shri Ram Consecration at the booth level. This initiative aims to provide a means for the common people to witness the consecration of Shri Ram Lala."This way, the general public can have darshan of Shri Ram Lala and witness the consecration ceremony," the source mentioned.Additionally, BJP workers are encouraged to engage in social work on a personal level."Workers may choose to distribute blankets, organize community feasts ('bhandara'), or contribute through donations in terms of food or fruits to help those in need," the sources added.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple on January 22. Madhur Bhandarkar in the early hours of Wednesday mourned the demise of the founder of Sahara India Group, Subrata Roy.Taking to Instagram, Bhandarkar shared a picture on his stories which he captioned, "Sad to hear about the passing of Subrata Roy sir. His infectious energy and zest for life always brightened every room. Was fortunate to have collaborated with his Sahara pic on 2 remarkable films #Page3 and #Corporate. My deepest condolences go out to his family members. #OmShanti."Subrata Roy passed away on Tuesday due to cardiorespiratory arrest, said the business group in a statement. He was 75 years old."It is with profound sadness that Sahara India Pariwar informs the demise of our Hon'ble 'Saharasri' Subrata Roy Sahara, Managing Worker and Chairman, Sahara India Pariwar," read the statement issued by Sahara India Pariwar.The statement said that Subrata Roy was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute (KDAH) on 12th November this year following a decline in health and he was battling with various health complications."Saharasri ji, an inspirational leader and visionary, passed away on 14th November 2023 at 10.30 pm due to cardiorespiratory arrest following an extended battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute (KDAH) on 12th November 2023 following a decline in health," the statement said."His loss will be deeply felt by the entire Sahara India Pariwar. Saharasri ji was a guiding force, a mentor, and a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege to work alongside him," the statement added.The statement further said that details regarding the last rites will be communicated in due course.Also, the Samajwadi Party, in a post on X, expressed condolences on the demise of Subrata Roy. "Death of Saharashri Subrata Roy ji is very sad. May his soul rest in peace. May the bereaved family members get the strength to bear this immense sorrow. Heartfelt tribute!", the party said.
