The series adaptation of the Rick Riordan book series was first reported as being in the works at the streamer back in May 2020. The casting is currently underway. The series pickup news was announced by Rick Riordan in a video message.According to Variety, the live-action Percy Jackson series tells the fantastical story of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod, whos just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Now, Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus.Percy Jackson book series is comprised of The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The TitansCurse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian. Riordan has also published the companion book The Demigod Files as well as The Demigod Diaries.Both Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters were previously adapted into feature films. Logan Lerman starred as Jackson. The first filmed was released in 2010 while the second was released in 2013. American stand-up comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence, authorities said. The Girls Trip star was arrested on Friday in Peachtree City, according to the police.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor-comedian was detained after Peachtree City Police got a call about 2:30 a.m. regarding a driver asleep at the wheel on a highway, Assistant Police Chief Matt Myers said in a news release. An officer saw a vehicle matching the callers description and stopped Haddish as she pulled into the yard of a residence, Myers said.Peachtree City is located about 40 miles (63 kilometers) South of Atlanta. Later Haddish posted $1,666 bond and was released from the Fayette County Jail, Myers said. He was a promising boxer who won the Rookie of the Year award, but after meeting Mr. Choi, he became a bodyguard.Lee Sang Yi will take the role of Woo Jin, who met Gun Woo as a rival boxer but eventually ends up working with him. Woo Jin, who has some experience with daily installment, will help Gun Woo, who is ignorant about the private loan business. Park Sung Woongs character is Myeong Gil, a vicious loan shark with dark ambitions who will get into a tense confrontation with Mr. Choi.Kim Sae Ron will star as Hyun Joo, who is like family to Mr. Choi and will succeed him. The movie follows the story of what happens when he meets a male student named Im Hyun who acts just like In Tae Hee.Jaehyun has been cast for the role of Im Hyun Bin in the remake. Universal Studios Wolfman is looking to gain momentum with Ryan Gosling in the lead; now the director who happens to know the Oscar nominated actors work very well is in line to team up with the actor. As reported by Deadline, Derek Cianfrance, who has worked with Gosling on the dramas Place Beyond the Pines and Blue Valentine, is in talks to direct a new take on the studios classic monster character.According to Deadline, its unknown what the new take on Wolfman will look like, though it is believed to be a modern take and not a period piece. Gosling pitched the idea and fell in line with the studios new vision for its monster movies. Universal had originally planned on creating an interconnected universe with its vast catalog of monster IP. However, the studio reassessed after The Mummy with Tom Cruise misfired. Instead of prescribing a mandate that the films be part of a larger scheme, Universal loosened the restrictions and open-sourced to talent to create their own unique stories.However, Cianfrance is known for preferring more grounded adult dramas like the ones he has done with Gosling than event projects at major studios That said, the duo are always open to listening to pitches from one another when projects come up, and insiders say after Whannell departed from the project due to scheduling, Gosling approached Cianfrance about his idea for the film, ultimately winning the director over.Although Cianfrance hasnt directed a film since 2016s The Light Between Oceans, he recently earned an Oscar nomination for his work writing Sound of Metal. On the TV front, he earned strong reviews directing all six episodes of the Emmy-winning limited series I Know This Much Is True starring Mark Ruffalo. Alongside direction, Cianfrance will also be penning the script with Gosling, Ken Kao and Jason Blum producing the project.
