If this can happen with a police van parked outside the Khan residence for protection then it is fair to say that safety is an illusion. Need more stringent surveillance in Bandra for certain. Robberies were rife a while ago and now a shoot out? Scary."Horrific and condemnable. If this can happen with a police van parked outside the Khan residence for protection then it is fair to say that safety is an illusion. Need more stringent surveillance in Bandra for certain. Robberies were rife a while ago and now a shoot out? Scary. Pooja Bhatt (@PoojaB1972) April 14, 2024Earlier in the day, two unidentified persons opened fire outside the house of Salman in Mumbai's Bandra at around 5 am.According to police officials, three rounds were fired. The Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has reached the spot for investigation, they said.Earlier today, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde spoke to Salman over the phone and provided him with security relief.Shinde also discussed this with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and suggested increasing Salman Khan's security.Since November 2022, Salman Khan's security level has been elevated to Y-Plus due to threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Khan, has also been authorised to carry a personal firearm and has acquired a new armoured vehicle for added protection.Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman was last seen in the thriller film 'Tiger 3', which performed well at the box office. Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the film also starred Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles.Reportedly, he will be next seen in director Vishnuvardhan's upcoming film 'The Bull'. However, an official announcement of the film is still awaited. He also has 'Tiger vs Pathaan' in his kitty with superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

"I had great regard for Mr Bhatt till fiasco happened": Ranvir Shorey talks about fallout with Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt

17 Mar 2024

Ranvir Shorey has created magic on the silver screen with his roles. He has performed a variety of roles, each with his unique manner. However, the journey for him has never been easy. The 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' actor got candid about the fallout with Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt. In an exclusive conversation with ANI, he shared, "I had great regard for Mr Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt) till the fiasco happened when I was seeing his daughter (Pooja Bhatt). Then I saw that actually whatever respect I had for him was being used to manipulate me... very duplicitous behaviour going on."He also discussed the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, which has sparked debate over work culture in the film industry and how the ganging up happens in Bollywood. Shorey also spoke about being isolated, and bad-mouthing in the film industry. "And then this thing happened with Sushant a couple of years later and then I felt like I had to speak out. But all this is, you ask anybody from the film industry, anybody, most of them will say it off record, I can say it on record, I have no problem. This fully happens, you know, ganging up against someone, elbowing them out, standing on somebody's toes, scuttling somebody's career. This happens. This is a fact," he said.Shorey added, "It happens in politics, corporate and media too. But this part is not glamorous."The ace actor also recalled his bond with Sushant over physics. He shared, "I wouldn't say we were close, but we were friends. We worked together. He had been home a few times. And we got along quite well during the two-month-long shoot of 'Sonchiriya'. And we bonded over physics because both of us love physics. We had a lot of conversations on that.""I remember when we were shooting, there was an eclipse. It was a lunar eclipse and Saturn was lining up behind it. He flew down his big telescope from Bombay just for that. And when we were shooting in Dholpur, there was a big telescope in the garden. He called every one, drinks, you know, cocktails and snacks and all. And that's the only time I've looked through a telescope and seen it straight... There were three. Moon, Jupiter, Saturn lining up. With my eye. And I'm telling you, the feeling of seeing it through your eye via a telescope is very different from looking at it on a screen. There's something... I don't know what it is. It's a different quality of experience...fond memories," Ranvir added.Ranvir is known for his work in films including 'Jism', 'Lakshya'. He received much appreciation for his role in films such as 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Traffic Signal', 'Bheja Fry', among others. He was also seen in 'Accident or Conspiracy: Godhra'. His recent show 'Sunflower season 2' is receiving a good response.

Such pride & joy to have been on this journey with you'll @himanshi-pandey @vidushi1212 @afrahsayed @avantika @dalaiallegedly @aneetpadda.@hakyila. As a rebellious teenager who never shied away from speaking my mind and questioning authority, it was such a kick to play Anita Verma. What I loved was that within the series, the characters develop a healthy sense of self and strive to overcome gender bias and stereotypes. For me, this was key, as that ensures they become healthy role models for others out there. It is much needed in the times we live in, where focus is more on materialistic and frivolous virtues."The series takes audiences into the world of the prestigious Vandana Valley where a group of young girls navigate life's myriad exhilarating adventures of independence, rebellion, friendship, love, heartbreaks, and dreams, as they challenge not only the norms of the school but society at large.Along the journey, each of them battles with an internal struggle to remain true to their own unique identities.'Big Girls Don't Cry' will stream on an OTT platform from March 14.

Intriguing trailer of Pooja Bhatt, Avantika Vandanapu starrer 'Big Girls Don't Cry' unveiled

6 Mar 2024

Big Girls Don't Cry', a coming-of-age school drama set against the backdrop of a fictionalized all-girls boarding school, on Wednesday, unveiled the official trailer.Directed by Nitya Mehra, Sudhanshu Saria, Karan Kapadia, and Kopal Naithani, it boasts a predominantly women-led ensemble cast that features Avantika Vandanapu, Aneet Padda, Dalai, Vidushi, Lhakyila, Afrah Sayed and Akshita Sood, Pooja Bhatt, Raima Sen, and Zoya Hussain in pivotal roles, along with Mukul Chadda.Taking to Instagram, Pooja Bhatt treated fans with the official video and captioned it, "If there is one thing stronger than magic,it is SISTERHOOD!"The trailer introduces the principal (played by Pooja Bhatt) claiming the institution has played a role in shaping society and the country. The video gives a glimpse into the boarding life at the prestigious Vandana Valley, where a group of seven girls are gearing up for their final year in school with every intention of ruling the campus. An outsider, Kavya Yadav (Vidushi) , walks onto the campus, hoping to make friends and ace life. Noor has her eyes set on the school captaincy, while Ludo is chasing down the sports captaincy position. As Roohi (portrayed by Aneet) and JC (played by Lhakyila) push for their beauty-business to succeed, Pluggy has grand plans of her own, and the rebel-poet Dia prepares to jump the boundary of the school wall before the class bell rings.Talking about what drew her to the story, Pooja Bhatt said, "I said yes to Big Girls Don't Cry because I was drawn to the story, the setting, and the characters in it. What I loved was that within the series, the characters develop a healthy sense of self and strive to overcome gender bias and stereotypes. For me, this was key, as that ensures they become healthy role models for others out there. It is much needed in the times we live in, where focus is more on materialistic and frivolous virtues."Essaying the character of Ludo in the series, Avantika said, "Being able to play Ludo was truly the opportunity of a lifetime. I'm so deeply grateful whenever I reminisce on the experience of having worked with incredible women like Nitya Mehra and Ashi Dua, but also spending time with my girls on set. To walk away from a show playing pretend best friends only for it to come true in more ways than one is absolutely surreal. Ludo challenged me, intimidated me, and in some ways even broke me. But Ludo also built me back up, inspired me, and reassured me. She's a magical character and I hope that for audiences she's able to have even a fraction of the impact she had on me." "I've always been drawn to coming-of-age stories--the journey of self-discovery and grappling with identity resonates deeply with me. Being part of a show that authentically portrays the complexities of growing up, both the highs and lows, was incredibly fulfilling. I hope Roohi takes the viewers through all the messy feelings that come along with being a teenager, with her wit and sass; her aggressive and sometimes territorial love for her friends, and her cathartic change that happens only when she hits rock bottom. Life imitates art, and I now have a girl gang that says, 'big girls don't cry' while wiping away each other's tears," Aneet, who plays Roohi added.Dalai shared the experience and said, "Coming of age in a sisterhood is the most mysterious, magical, and fun journey. It was a joy to have relived that experience of being Pluggy, and I couldn't have wished for a more special girl gang. Big Girls Don't Cry gave me sisters for life, and I can't wait for everyone to experience the wild ride with us"Vidushi talked about her role, "What truly moved me from the beginning was the sincerity of the motives behind creating this series. Stepping into Kavya's shoes has been an immensely rewarding and fulfilling experience. I am confident that you will all connect with the story of this very ordinary girl on a journey to pursue her extraordinary dreams, balancing family expectations, while trying to fit in and prove herself, navigating the advantages of privilege, and ultimately discovering her value just as she is."Recalling her audition for the series, Afrah said, "I first auditioned for Big Girls Don't Cry in 2020, and it has been my dream to be a part of this show ever since! Becoming Noor just felt correct, our lives somehow feel intertwined with each other. Noor is smart, focused, and always has a plan! You either know a Noor or you are a Noor. Being from an all girls school myself, a coming of age show about a girls boarding school is something I'd definitely binge watch, and I hope the audience enjoys watching it as much as we enjoyed shooting it! I'm extremely grateful to be a part of this series and to have found such beautiful friendships that I'll forever cherish!"Creator and director Nitya Mehra said, "Big Girls Don't Cry is my homage to the best years of my life. It's an homage to my best friends, to sisterhood, and to the young girls that inspire me every day."The series takes audiences into the world of the prestigious Vandana Valley where a group of young girls navigate life's myriad exhilarating adventures of independence, rebellion, friendship, love, heartbreaks, and dreams, as they challenge not only the norms of the school but society at large.Along the journey, each of them battles with an internal struggle to remain true to their own unique identities. 'Big Girls Don't Cry' will stream on an OTT platform from March 14.

24 Nov 2023

alcoholism and how she found love in sobriety. In a recent interview with ANI, the 'Zakhm' star shared how social drinkers used to judge her after she decided to quit alcohol a couple of years ago." For the first time in my life, I was given the tag of being boring. I was like wow that is something new. You know why because I don't drink. You see most of people live in denial.. they are like no, no I only drink in the evening or on weekends..I don't drink alone... they feel that they have control over their drinking habit but that is a myth. If you take a sip and then you can't control yourself then you have a problem," she said on the sidelines of the 54th IFFI, where her film 'Sanaa' was premiered."When a person admits that I have an issue and deals with their demons then the rest of the people who are hiding away from their demons get uncomfortable," Pooja added.Previously in one of her Instagram posts, Pooja said that alcohol was her drug of choice. "Alcohol is a drug and was my drug of choice. Just because it is socially acceptable does not mean it is not. I have had to make more excuses for NOT drinking in the last few yrs than I ever have for drinking-to friends, foes and 'well' meaning acquaintances alike," she said.Pooja Bhatt is nearly seven years sober and she is clearly proud of her journey.
