Starting her journey on television, Prachi Desai has surely come a long way from her initial days in the industry. The actress has starred in multiple films and has been lauded for her performances as well. Earlier today, Prachi was snapped at the Mumbai airport leaving for Jaisalmer in a wheelchair sparking rumours that she recently injured herself.Well, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that Prachi indeed did hurt herself, and required to use a wheelchair. Apparently, the actress suffered a sprain on her left ankle, but despite that, she reported for her scheduled shoot that involved her doing some stunts. With her ankle already sprained, matters were aggravated with her stunt sequence and required medical attention.Currently, Prachi Desai is filming for the ZEE5 original Silence that also features Manoj Bajpayee. Besides this, the actress has reportedly signed a few more projects that will be announced at a later date.

Actors Manoj Bajpayee, Prachi Desai and Arjun Mathur will be teaming for ZEE 5's original film Silence. Written and directed by ad filmmaker Aban Bharucha Deohans, the film also stars Sahil Vaid, Vaquar Sheikh and Shishir Sharma.Arjun Mathur rose to fame with his performance as a gay man in the critically and commercially acclaimed web series Made In Heaven. He was last seen in the suspense thriller series The Gone Game. This is the first time he will be sharing screen with the versatile Manoj Bajpayee.A few days back, the actor sharing the news of sharing screen with Manoj Bajpayee took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "Apologies for the radio-silence. The inevitable happened - I contracted COVID, but am now well and on the other side. What better to return with but the announcement of a new project ???? So much to be excited about - from getting back to a set before this godforsaken year is up, to finally sharing space with @bajpayee.manoj after 22 years of the greatest admiration. Wish me luck.

The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) which is currently investigating a drug related case in Bollywood has approached a special NDPS court and sought the cancellations of bails granted to comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa. The couple was arrested a week ago after drugs were seized from their residence and they further confessed to consuming drugs.The NCB filed an application to allow their custodial interrogation by setting aside lower court's order. The court issued notice to Bharti and Haarsh on Tuesday and the matter will most likely be taken up in court for hearing next week.Bharti and Haarsh were granted bail on November 23, a day after they were sent to judicial custody. On November 21, the NCB conducted a raid in the couple's house from where they seized 86.5 grams of ganja. The couple was interrogated on the same day during which they confessed to consuming drugs.The central agency had earlier arrested Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Showik was granted bail earlier today, while Rhea was let go on bail in October after spending a month in jail.

There are rumours of Kannada superstar Yash having finalized the release date of KGF 2. The reports state that the film will open for Makar Sakranti on January 14, 2021.However, when I approached a source very close to the project he said, There is no release date right now. We are now focusing on completing the film. Once were done and we have a clearer picture of the theatre business after it resumes on October 15, only then will we decide a release date.Does Makar Sankrati look like a dependable release date? Even Christmas looks like a good option. It all depends on how comfortable audiences are with the idea of returning to theatres. Yash is in no hurry to release. Theres a fight sequence with Sanjay Dutt which may be shot with a body double.

Considering that the musical Rock On 2 features several actors including new additions besides the older ones from the prequel, we hear that the actresses are feeling a tad bit ignored. While Shraddha Kapoor plays the leading lady in the sequel, Prachi Desai who plays the wife of Farhan Akhtar in the film is probably feeling left out and was spotted shooting a few extra scenes with her on screen hubby in Mumbai. When the trailer of Rock On 2 hit the tube, there were speculations that Prachi was miffed with the very few almost negligible scenes in the film. Now it is being said that the makers wanted to avoid further trouble and decided to shoot some more portions along with the actress and her co-actor Farhan Akhtar.The said schedule was an outdoor one in Mumbai but it faced little trouble as it resulted in chaos. Whilst shooting a few portions of the film, it seems that crowd gathered around the sets and the bouncers ended up behaving a bit unruly in their attempt to take control of the situation. However, it is being said that Farhan Akhtar s calm and good presence of mind helped in diffusing the situation and the shooting was completed without too many hassles. Rock On 2 also stars Arjun Rampal Purab Kohli among others and is directed by Shujaat Saudagar.It is slated to release on November 11.

The petite Prachi Desai, who was last seen in the Emraan Hashmi starrer Azhar , has now walked out of director Shubham Sinha's film Penalty. As per Bollywood Hungama's reliable sources, Prachi Desai just shot the film for a day and then quit the project.

The same source added that Prachi Desai walked out of Penalty because she felt that the film was not living up to the script that was given to her.

Penalty was being produced by Rudraksh Films. Despite repeated attempts, Prachi Desai wasn't available for comments.

Prachi Desai will be now seen in Rock On!! 2 , which happens to be the sequel of the 2008's runaway hit Rock On!!

The casting of the Mohammed Azharuddin bio-pic gets more interesting by the week. While Emraan Hashmi's first look as Azhar has already created a sensation for going into dark areas of the famed cricketer's life and profession, the casting of the women in Azharuddin's life has so far been problematic.

While Prachi Desai has been confirmed in the role of Azhar's first wife Naureen, the casting of the second wife, model-turned-actress-turned-homemaker Sangeeta Bijlani has so far been on hold.

There were strong rumours of Kareena Kapoor Khan filling the bill. But the actress apparently declined the role as she didn't want to play a living person who is in the limelight.

Other names were also bandied.

It can now be divulged that Nargis Fakhri has finally been penciled in to play Sangeeta Bijlani in the Azharuddin bio-pic. According to a source in the know, "Director Tony D'Souza and producer Ekta Kapoor wanted an actress who was also a model, and one who could be stunning sensuous and appealing in a very classy way. Nargis fulfills all these pre-condtions. She is on as Sangeeta."

While Rock On marked the debut of TV's famous character Bani aka Prachi Desai in Bollywood, the actress is all set to be a part of the second installment too. The prequel had Prachi Desai playing the role of Farhan Akhtar's wife, who inspires Farhan to reconnect with his dream for music and his friends.

Excited about her role in Rock On 2 , Prachi Desai mentioned that this film will be special to her since it was her first film with Farhan, who also debuted as an actor with it. However, she did not divulge many details about the character she will be portraying in Rock On 2. The film also has Shraddha Kapoor playing the role of a female lead.

On the other hand, Prachi Desai will be paired opposite Emraan Hashmi once again after their last hit Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. She will play the role of Naureen, the first wife of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in the Azhar biopic. Stating that not much about Naureen was known to the world, Prachi further mentioned that she is now learning a lot about her from her director (Anthony D'Souza) and the writers of the film.

Right after the announcement of the Azharuddin biopic, the film was subject to rumours with many names being associated with the film. However, now taking up a stance is director Anthony D'Souza who maintained that it is only Emraan Hashmi who has been signed for the film.

What about the news of Prachi Desai being signed for the biopic. On that, D'Souza says, "We have approached her for the film and we are working out the modalities. I am very happy to be working with her." When asked if she will be playing the role of Azhar's first wife in the film, he refused to divulge the details.

Amidst rumours of Kareena Kapoor Khan playing the role of Sangeeta Bijlani, Anthony completely denies the story and says, "We have not signed anyone for any role, apart from Emraan Hashmi." Adding that the film is slated to go on floor in May 2015, Anthony D'Souza says, "Since it is based on Azhar's life, it will be shot in different places and at real locations too." Ask the director about his plans for his next film after the Emraan Hashmi starrer and Anthony firmly maintains that he is currently focusing only on this film. There were initially rumours about Vidyut Jamval playing the lead in Anthony D'Souza's next but the filmmaker denies the story. He says, "I am doing only one film currently. I know Vidyut and I have met him a couple of times but I am not doing a film with him at the moment."
