Actor Armaan Kohli, who was arrested on August 28 last year, was once again denied interim bail by the court on February 22. The actor was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for alleged possession and consumption of drugs. Kohli had reportedly asked for an interim bail for 14-days in order to visit his ailing parents. He later urged the court to grant him bail for two days.According to NDTV, "the NCB, represented by special public prosecutor Advait Sethna, said the accused has been arrested under a relevant section of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for possession of commercial quantity. The relevant section doesn't have provision for bail even on medical grounds, the NCB had argued, adding that the ground mentioned in the bail application doesn't inspire confidence." The bail plea was rejected by special judge AA Joglekar after hearing arguments of both sides.Armaan Kohli was booked under sections 27A (illicit trafficking) and 29 (conspiracy) of the NDPS Act. NCB had conducted a raid at Kohlis residence in Mumbai in August this year. He was allegedly found in possession of 1.2gm of cocaine.

Actor Armaan Kohli who was arrested in August by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is currently under remand at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. Today, at a bail hearing in the Bombay High Court, the actor was once again denied bail. However, the court granted bail to two others-Kareem Dhanani and Imran Ansari- arrested in the same case.Armaan had applied for bail earlier this month. Opposing the actor's bail plea, the NCB in their statement said that the role and "involvement of Armaan Kohli in the commission of offence is grave". The NCB also stated that Kohli supplied contrabands to third parties and in lieu of services, not for free. "There are Whatsapp chats of Armaan Kohli with many individuals, including foreign nationals, in which drug consumption, procurement, supply, sale, and purchase are being discussed," the NCB said.The NCB had conducted a raid at Kohlis residence in Mumbai in August this year. He was allegedly found in possession of 1.2gm of cocaine.

Updated: Sep 2, 2021 - 9:15 PM IST Actor Armaan Kohli was arrested earlier this week by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) following a raid at his residence in Mumbai. The agency had recovered one gram of cocaine from his Andheri residence. On Wednesday, the actor was sent to 14-day judicial custody by an NDPS court.As per reports, Kohli was sent to judicial custody after the NCB did not seek his remand, following which the actor moved bail application. The NCB had earlier said that they have pressed serious charges against the actor apart from the consumption of drugs. They will now clarify in their charge sheet if Kohli will be charged for consumption or for being a part of a drug supply network.Kohli's name surfaced in the investigation when the officials were questioning drug peddler Ajay Raju Singh who was arrested on Saturday. He had confessed to selling drugs to Kohli on multiple occasions and his Whatsapp chats with Kohli also reportedly verified the same.The NCB had searched Kohli's residence on Saturday post the information received by Singh. The agency recovered cocaine from a table in his bedroom.

Drug peddler Ajay Singh alias Mamu, aged 50, has also been arrested and preliminary investigation by the NCB has revealed that Singh had links with the international drug syndicate and prostitution racket. The agency also recovered some WhatsApp chats regarding the purchase of drugs between the two.The Mumbai Anti Narcotics Cell had arrested Singh in 2009 when his name had first surfaced in a drugs case. On Saturday, the NCB arrested Singh from new Haji Ali and recovered 25 gms of MD drugs from him. The drugs that he sold in Mumbai reportedly came from Colombia and Peru. According to the police, he had connections with Bollywood celebrities and was often seen at their parties as well.The NCB has recovered WhatsApp chats regarding the purchase of drugs between Kohli and Singh from the latter's mobile phone. On the basis of the Whatsapp chat, they had raided Kohli's house and seized 1.2 gms of Cocaine.On Monday, the NCB produced Singh and Kohli in court and requested to extend their remand. The NCB told the court, Singh is associated with the international drug syndicate and prostitution racket. His international links have come to the fore. NCB needs his custody to investigate the matter. The court granted police custody till September 1.

A day before, on Saturday, the actor's residence was raided after which on the same evening he was taken to the NCB office for questioning. Reportedly, he is facing some serious charges.As per reports, Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede of NCB said that several charges have been levelled against Kohli apart from the consumption of drugs. He said that Kohli will be produced in court on Monday, August 30.Armaan Kohli was also arrested in 2018 by the Excise department. He was caught possessing 41 bottles of scotch whiskey at his residence which was against the law.The NCB started conducting raids and questioning members of the film industry since the latter half of 2020. Well-known actors like Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, among others have been investigated by the NCB in the past year.

The actor was taken in for questioning.According to the reports, An NCB official confirmed that the actor's residence was being searched but did not go into details of it. He was taken to the NCB office later in the evening for further questioning.Armaan Kohli was arrested in 2018 by the Excise department. He was caught possessing 41 bottles of scotch whiskey at his residence which was against the law.On the work front, Armaan Kohli has worked in films like Jaani Dushman and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

Unarguably one of Indian cinema's greatest films, Sholay which released in 1975 is all set for a new release in the 3D format. Producer Jayantilal Gada is responsible for taking Sholay to a new level. But without the director's consent.

The technological conversion has not gone down well with this monumental film's director Ramesh Sippy who has not only decided to dissociate himself completely from the project but also opted to take the producers of Sholay 3D to court. Speaking for the first time on the issue, the soft spoken Ramesh Sippy said, "My logic for taking the matter to court is very simple. No one asked me before converting my film to a new format. No one took me into confidence. There was no attempt to contact me. I read about it in the papers. I had no choice but to go to court." Mr. Sippy says he has no inclination to see Sholay converted into 3D. "3D was available to me when I made Sholay . When I started work on Sholay , I had the choice of making it either in 3D or 70mm Stereophonic Sound. I chose the latter format. If I wanted to make Sholay in 3D I would have done so." The filmmaker known for his landmark motions pictures including Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Shakti and Saagar further adds, "I am against anyone doing anything to my film without my knowledge or consent. And the truth is I've gone to court on the issue. Therefore saying anything more on the issue would not be appropriate at this point of time." While Ramesh Sippy has decided to stay away from all activity related to the release of Sholay 3D , Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar who wrote Sholay have been seen promoting the film.

Ramesh Sippy diplomatically skirts the issue saying, "I think the decision of participating or nor participating should be left to them. I honestly think it is up to them." The master storyteller has reconciled himself to the 3D version of his film being released ultimately. "I guess it will see the light of day. But before that I hope the court assures me that the new format is not detrimental to what I had made. My main objection is to not having been consulted or taken into confidence. I mean, copyrights and all that are matters to be dealt with in court. But there is a basic ethic where a director's work cannot be tampered with, without his knowledge." Ramesh Sippy has not entirely lost hope. "For all we know, they may have done a great job... I don't know. They will make money out of whatever they've done with my film. I never interfere with the business aspect of any film. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't be taken into confidence. Until I see the final product, I don't know what they've done." Ramesh is hurt and offended by the lack of initiative shown by the 3D-conversion force in getting him on board. "Nobody tried to ask my opinion on the 3D. Forget the business side, this is unethical. Ultimately it's the honorable court's decision. But whatever the legal outcome the pain of someone superseding my creative decision over my work cannot be taken away.

Sholay is my work. It's my creation. You can't take it away from me. The passage of time has revealed its staying power. The fact that 40 years later someone can convert it into 3D says it all."

The latest update on the Bigg Boss 7 contestant Armaan Kohli, after being arrested yesterday, he is now out on bail. And since all the offences under which he was booked were bailable ones, he was not produced before a court.

Post this, Armaan has now re-entered the Bigg Boss' house. Meanwhile, his spokesperson said that Armaan left the Bigg Boss' house in order to co-operate with the cops. And now that he has completed all his duties, he is back in the house.

Amidst the whole drama, there were many who 'claimed' that the whole act was just a publicity stunt by Sofiya. On the other hand, NCP's women's wing was present outside the Bigg Boss' house after Armaan was granted bail yesterday evening.

For the first time in the history of Indian television, the police arrested a contestant from the middle of a TV reality show. The show in question is Bigg Boss 7 and the contestant is Armaan Kohli, who was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by ex-contestant Sofia Hayat.

Yesterday, the Lonavla police arrested Armaan on the basis of Sofia's complaint that stated that he allegedly assaulted her with a mop, causing pain and trauma to her. The complaint also mentioned Armaan verbally abusing her. Even though Sofia's complaint was booked by Santacruz police station, the case was transferred to Lonavla police station as the Bigg Boss' studios is located there. The police have booked Armaan under sections 324, 509, 506 and 504 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).
