9 Dec 2023

Faadu,' actor Pavail Gulati took a stroll down memory lane and shared challenges faced during shooting during a sudden wave of the pandemic.'Faadu' was released on December 9, 2022, and was received with extensively positive acclaim on the show directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and starring Pavail opposite Saiyami Kher.Pavail shared, that while the shoot was in full swing, they were met with a sudden onset of Omicron variant wave spreading, that lead to resilient team battling adversity. "I remember we were shooting in December 2021... in the middle of Omicron spreading. Every day there were people falling sick, and the set was getting emptier. We couldn't stop shooting cause we had location issues otherwise."Describing a particularly challenging day, Gulati recounted, "On one day, we had just about 15 people left on the crew... just Ashwiny ma'am, our cinematographer, me, and a few other people. We had one AD, 2 lightmen, and a few other people left. All of us were doing 3 jobs each minimum. I was doing costumes and giving claps while acting. Helping out my DOP and helping my director as well."Despite the adversities, Pavail highlighted the remarkable morale-boosting efforts of director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari. "The best thing was that Ashwini Iyer Tiwari kept everyone's morale so high that it didn't feel like a crisis at all... I think we became more productive in that situation... it's something I can never forget," he added. The screenplay of 'Faadu' is written by poet, theatre writer and director Saumya Joshi.Meanwhile, Pavail is all set to join the action-thriller 'Deva' starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde. In a significant development, Pavail Gulati has officially joined the lead ensemble cast of the highly anticipated action thriller, featuring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role, as per the statement.Helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, known for Malayalam films like 'Salute' and 'Kayamkulam Kochunni'. The film is titled 'Deva'. The film is being produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar praises Saiyami Kher for her bowling skills

22 Aug 2023

Saiyami Kher, legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has always remained her inspiration and now the Ghoomer actor has shared a video with the master blaster in which she can be seen impressing him with her bowling talent. The actor took to her Instagram handle and wrote in the caption along with the video, Whats the one dream you had as a child that you never thought could never come true? Mine was that someday, I would get to meet @sachintendulkar my hero, my inspiration, my teacher. I have loved and learnt this game watching him play. Ive bunked college to watch him play. Ive had the loudest Sachinnn Sachhhin chant in the North Stand. So, I cant seem to explain what this means to me.She added how the great cricketer motivated her in life to never give up and work hard to achieve the target. His 136 at Chennai, the Sharjah Storm, 241 at Sydney, 98 vs Pakistan, the list is endless. He gave me joy, he taught me how to fight, he taught me passion, how to never give up, how to work hard, and how to stay grounded. Unknowingly, he taught me how to live. When I began acting, my friends ragged me and said, Ja ja, acting kar. Someday Sachin will watch your film. And that became my goal. To work hard and hope that someday the Master will watch my work. And then, it happened, the God of Cricket saw a film in which I play a cricketer. The God of Cricket asked me to show him how I bowled the Ghoomer, she shared. She concluded, Dreams really do come true. This. This part of my life is called happiness.Earlier, Sachin shared his views about the film in a video that he posted on his social media handle. He wrote in the caption, "Really enjoyed watching #Ghoomer by #RBalki. It was truly inspirational and should be watched by all youngsters. @bachchan was fantastic as the Coach, @saiyami looked very authentic, her love for Cricket and her ability to understand the character was amazing. @angadbedi was perfect as her constant support and @azmishabana18 jis one-liners made my day. Simply loved the film."Helmed by the acclaimed director R Balki, Ghoomer stars Abhishek BachchanSaiyami Kher, Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi in the lead roles.

Saiyami Kher thankful to R Balki for giving her opportunity to be part of Ghoomer

20 Aug 2023

She continued to share, I was the junglee girl who would bash up boys in school. Who could eat grilled chicken every day. Who aspired to be ambidextrous, because my icon, Sachin Tendulkar was. Who would spend hours in my parents restaurant trying to make a Rumali roti fly in the air. Whose life revolved around her grandmother. Whose most prized possession was a store-bought Indian cricket jersey. Who hoped that someday, she wouldnt need to buy it. And that, maybe, one day, it would bear her name. Sadly, that magical moment never came for me.But I did what I could to create glimpses of that magic in my life. When I was batting, running, swimming, or smashing a shuttle, I was happy. We cant pour from an empty cup. So I filled it up to the brim with sport. This athlete image didnt go with what a conventional heroine was meant to be. Instead of filling the cup, I was told to empty the vessel out of everything it contains. How do I become someone else if I am still holding on to what I am? So pour it all out, she added. While being thankful to the director, she mentioned, And Balki gave me that. This film has my blood, sweat, tears, and heart. Anina is me, I am Anina. The palindrome extends beyond just a play on the name.Saiyami thanked filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for bringing back her confidence and Balki for giving her the opportunity, To @anuragkashyap10 who filled my head with logic and brought back my confidence. To Balki, who filled my life up with magic by giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity. To AB who taught me kindness. To Shabana Maushi who showed me the importance of family. And to Angad, my first friend in the industry; thank you. To spending a year with one hand tied up. And to realizing that were stronger than what we think we think we are. To believing in oneself. To Ghoomer, concluded Kher.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Saiyami Kher (@saiyami)After her post, Abhishek Bachchan responded, You deserve every bit of it and more! I could never actually step into the shoes of a real life para athlete, but even small hurdles I had to overcome being an athlete myself, reminded me of things we take for granted. Preparing and filming for Ghoomer opened my eyes in a way that I never thought would happen going into it.
