When Sukesh Chandrashekhar met Nikki Tamboli in jail: Authorities recreate scene

26 Sep 2022

Speaking with ANI, special CP EOW Ravindra Yadav revealed that the two actresses had gone to meet Sukesh while he was in jail and that he offered them good roles in films during their interaction. Ravindra Yadav further told ANI that they recreated the meeting in the jail premises to get a better picture of how he operated from prison."It was very important for us to find out, how exactly was Sukesh able to run his syndicate within the cell. That's why we recreated the whole scene in Tihar Jail. The crime scene was recreated with two actresses, Nikita Tamboli and Sophia Singh. They had met Sukesh inside the Number 1 Jail. They were introduced to Sukesh by Pinky Irani," the officer said."Sukesh had arranged the whole setup inside the jail. We tried to recreate every detail of the modus operandi. From which gate did they enter? and where exactly did they meet Sukesh? We tried to recreate every detail. It will help us very much in court. We have also done videography and created the draft of the case," the officer added.Ravindra Yadav further said that Sukesh is an expert in decoying people with his confidence and money."Both actors said that they felt suspicious but still Sukesh was able to decoy them. Sukesh Chandrashekhar is an expert in decoying people with the level of confidence he speaks with, it can even completely convince people who doubt him. He conned the actresses on the behest of offering roles to them," the officer said."Sukesh used to say big things about himself. To someone he said that he is a big producer, to someone else he said that he is the head of a South Indian channel. He had even called the jail cell his office. He had a good amount of money, that he used to lure people with and they ended up believing him. He told the two heroines that he is making films from inside the cell only," the officer added. The Special CP also revealed the involvement of some more actresses in the case and said that no one has been given a clean chit. He added that the names of a few jail officials who were helping him have also come to the fore."All this was running inside the jail and some jail officials too were involved in this. There are some more heroines involved in the case. We haven't given clean chit to anyone, and these actresses might be called again if needed," the officer told ANI.Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez on Monday got interim bail from the Patiala House Court in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case.On September 15, actress Nora Fatehi and Pinky Irani, who had apparently introduced her to Sukesh were questioned by the EOW of the Delhi Police.Sukesh Chandrashekhar has been accused of running an extortion racket worth Rs 200 crore when he was lodged in Rohini jail, as he tried to extort money from Aditi Singh, the wife of jailed former Ranbaxy owner Shivinder Singh, posing as an official from the union law ministry and the PMO, on the pretext of getting her husband out on bail.Sukesh Chandrashekhar, a native of Bengaluru in Karnataka, is currently lodged in a Delhi jail and faces over 10 criminal cases registered against him.

Chandrashekhar Azad birth anniversary: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra shares video of Aamir Khan's portrayal of freedom fighter

23 Jul 2022

Aamir Khan playing the freedom fighter in his hit film 'Rang De Basanti'. "Happy Birthday Chandrashekhar Azad," Mehra captioned the post. Azad was born on July 23, 1906, as Chandra Shekhar Tiwari in Bhavra village of Madhya Pradesh, he joined the freedom movement in 1921 while studying in school. He's famous for his slogan "We will face the bullets of enemies. We were free and we will remain free." In December 1921, when Mahatma Gandhi launched the non-cooperation movement, Azad took part in it. After joining the movement, he was arrested by the British police and when he was presented before a magistrate, he declared his name to be 'Azad', his father's name as 'Swatantra'. Interestingly, 'Rang De Basanti' follows a British woman, Sue (Alice Patten), travelling to India, armed only with a dream to recreate India's freedom struggle involving freedom fighters Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Ashfaqulla Khan, Ram Prasad Bismil, and Shivaram Rajguru.

Is Jacqueline Fernandez being blacklisted in Bollywood?

2 May 2022

Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez who was doing fairly well for herself in Bollywood, suddenly finds her career hit a major roadblock. Her serious run-in with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has now attached Rs 7.27 crore worth of her assets in the extortion case against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, now threatens to destroy her Bollywood career. Is Jacqueline Fernandez being blacklisted in Bollywood?Ever since Jacquelines troubles with the ED erupted, filmmakers have been playing the wait-and-watch game with her career. Producers were fairly confident that her name would eventually be cleared, hence her roles in her most recent releases Bachchhan Paandey (with Akshay Kumar) and Attack (with John Abraham) survived the scissors.Curiously, Jacqueline played a similar role in both Bachchhan Paandey and Attack of the heros sweetheart who gets murdered mid-way. The superstitious film industry now attributes the massive debacle of both films to Fernandezs tarnished image. One of Jacqueline Fernandezs directors on condition of anonymity speaks about her future in Bollywood. Its not very bright, I am afraid. It is crystal clear that her troubles with the law are not going to go away. Our film industry tends to stay away from trouble. She had two recent releases Bachchhan Paandey and Attack. Both bombed badly in spite of big heroes. She now has Cirkus with Ranveer Singh and Ram Setu with Akshay Kumar. They will either replace her or play down her character and role.Apparently, even Jacquelines mentor and guide Salman Khan has decided to keep a distance from his Kick co-star professionally, though she is still welcome at his parties. Salman who loves mentoring firangi actresses (e.g Katrina, Iulia Vantur, Jacqueline) has decided to distance himself from Jacqueline was dropped from Salmans Da-bangg tour in Riyadh earlier this year. She is also no longer a part of the Pawan Kalyan period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu in Telugu directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. Jacqueline had been signed for this lavish costume drama reportedly at an astronomical price. Now with the scandal and controversy plaguing her image, she has been quietly replaced by Nargis Fakhri. After her exit from a big-budget Telugu film opposite the States superstar Pavan Kalyan, we now hear that Jacqueline may be out of yet another prestigious project. Apparently, Jacqueline is no more a part of Kick 2, the big Salman franchise that producer Sajid Nadiadwala will direct.

Jacqueline Fernandez Rs. 7 crore assets attached in conman Sukesh Chandrashekars Rs. 200 crore money laundering extortion case

30 Apr 2022

Jacqueline Fernandez continues to stay in the headlines amid her alleged involvement with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. As per the latest update, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has reportedly attached assets worth over Rs. 7 crore to Jacqueline in the Rs. 200 crore money laundering extortion case.Jacqueline Fernandez Rs. 7 crore assets attached in conman Sukesh Chandrashekars Rs. 200 crore money laundering extortion case According to a report in News 18, a fixed deposit worth Rs. 7.12 crore has been attached to Jacqueline Fernandez' name. Infact, the ED estimated that Sukesh gifted gifts "worth Rs 5.71 crore to Jacqueline using the extortion money. It is also said that Sukesh gave funds close to $173,000 and around 27,000 Australian dollars to a few close members of Jacquelines family."In Sukesh Chandrasekhars statement recorded under Section 50 of the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), Sukesh had said that he gave as many as 15 pairs of earrings, five Birkin bags, and other luxury goods from Chanel, Gucci to the actor. The conman also claimed that he gifted Jacqueline Fernandez Cartier bangles and rings and a bracelet by Tiffany & Co. in addition to Rolex watches. He also gave Jacqueline Fernandez jewellery worth Rs 7 crore and gifted her a horse called 'Espuelah'.In addition, Sukesh Chandrashekhar also extended a loan of USD 150,000 to Jacqueline Fernandez's sister, who lives in the US. He also gave her a BMW X5 car and gifted Jacqueline Fernandez's parents a Maserati and her mother in Bahrain a Porsche. He also extended a loan of USD 50,000 to her brother in Australia. In its charge sheet, the Delhi Police has accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar and 13 others of duping the wife of the former promoter of Ranbaxy to the tune of Rs 200 crore. Officials believe Chandrasekhar extorted Rs. 200 crore from the complainant by claiming that he would facilitate her husband's release from prison.

Jacqueline Fernandez received Gucci & Chanel bags, diamond earrings, Louis Vuitton shoes and Mini Cooper from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, confirms ED in chargesheet

14 Dec 2021

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been making headlines. The actress appeared before the Enforcement Directorate [ED] in New Delhi on December 9 for the second consecutive day in Rs. 200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and others. The actress was questioned for several hours. In the chargesheet filed by ED, new developments have come to light. In the chargesheet, ED cited that the actress had recorded two statements earlier this year in which she mentioned that the conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar had introduced himself as "Shekhaar Ratna Vela". He had allegedly made a spoof call replicating the office number of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to befriend actor Jacqueline Fernandez. The chargesheet, which was filed earlier this month under before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), further stated that Sukesh had allegedly claimed that he hailed from J Jayalalithaa's political family, they are from Chennai and owner of Sun TV.According to a report in NDTV, the agency said, "He (Mr. Chandrashekhar) was trying to get in touch with her (Ms Fernandez) over many weeks in December (2020) and January 2021 but she did not respond to him as she got many calls as such and was not sure about who the person was. Her makeup artist Shaan Muthathil was then contacted by a government office and was told that Jacqueline Fernandez must get in touch with Mr. Shekhaar as he is an important person and would like to speak to her." Subsequently, her makeup artist shared Sukesh Chandrashekhar's number with Jacqueline Fernandez, as he claimed to be an important person from politics.Meanwhile, in the two recorded statements in August and October of 2021, Jacqueline Fernandez told ED that she had received gifts from Chandrashekhar - three designer bags from Gucci and Chanel, two Gucci gym wear outfits, a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings and a bracelet of multi-colored stones and two Hermes bracelets. She had received a Mini Cooper car which she returned.Reportedly, he was in regular contact with Jacqueline Fernandez from February of 2021 till August when he was arrested by Delhi Police.Previously, it was reported that the actress was given gifts worth Rs. 10 crore. The chargesheet mentioned the gift items sent to Jacqueline which included jewellery, crockery, and four Persian cats -- one of them worth Rs. 9 lakh -- and a horse worth Rs. 52 lakh. Reportedly, Jacqueline would also talk to Sukesh over the phone while the latter was in Tihar jail. After he got bail, he flew Jacqueline to Chennai in a private plane and the duo stayed at a hotel in the city. As per the chargesheet, he spent Rs. 8 crore on air travel post his bail. Reportedly, Chandrasekhar also sent huge amounts to relatives of Jacqueline as well.In its charge sheet, the Delhi Police has accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar and 13 others of duping the wife of the former promoter of Ranbaxy to the tune of Rs 200 crore. Officials believe Chandrasekhar extorted Rs. 200 crore from the complainant by claiming that he would facilitate her husband's release from prison.

Jacqueline Fernandez called for questioning by ED again in conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar case related to Rs. 200 crore money laundering

11 Dec 2021

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been mired in controversy. The actress appeared before the Enforcement Directorate [ED] in New Delhi on December 9 for the second consecutive day in Rs. 200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and others. Now, the actress is expected to appear again in front of ED for questioning in the same case on Saturday, December 11.According to the reports, Jacqueline Fernandez was grilled for about eight hours on December 8 and her statements were recorded in multiple sessions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The questioning continued on December 9 as well. Over the past few months, she was also called in to record her statements.According to News18, a spokesperson for the actor had earlier said, Jacqueline Fernandez is being called to testify as a witness by the ED. She has duly recorded her statements and in future will also be completely cooperating with the agency in the investigations. Jacqueline also categorically denies alleged slanderous statements made about relationship with the involved couple."On December 5, the actress was stopped from flying through the Mumbai airport. Jacqueline Fernandez was supposed to be a part of the Da-Bangg Tour by Salman Khan. However, she was not allowed to leave the country as she is a witness in a Rs. 200 crore money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate(ED). In the light of new evidence that has surfaced, Jacqueline was called in for questioning on December 8 by the ED in Delhi to investigate her alleged links with prime accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar. It was speculated that Jacqueline has been dropped from the tour because of the ongoing investigation.
