One particular memory that stands out in the recollection of Banu, the iconic actress of her own era, is a day on the set of Guru Dutt's film 'Aarop' directed by Atmaramji, at the legendary 'Natraj Studios'.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Saira Banu Khan (@sairabanu)She wrote, "Vinod loved Sahib incredibly. He was a very thoughtful man. Once, he and I were shooting at "Natraj Studios" for Guru Dutt's film "AAROP" directed by Atmaramji. On the very same day, Sahib was headed to the airport and I had requested him to stop by the Studio before his flight to Delhi. As Sahib arrived, Vinod, Johnny Walker Bhai, and I were rehearsing a scene. While Sahib walked in, Vinod disappeared somewhere. Soon after, Atmaramji sent assistants to look for him so that we could go ahead with the shot. Vinod took pretty long to come onto the set and Sahib had already left. As soon as Vinod appeared I asked him "Where were you for so long?" Vinod laughed and said "Oh! Boy! Do you think I can act and perform while Dilipji, "The Master Of Acting" is watching? I would be shaking with nervousness! So I absconded!""Vinod, at the peak of his career, had become a disciple of Osho and from 1975 onwards, he had taken a break from films to follow his Guru. At that time, I told him many times, "You are one of the brightest stars of today and everyone knows you will scale tremendous heights in your career. You are too promising. Please don't go. Why are you intending to take this hiatus?" The entire industry was crestfallen at this move."Beyond his acting prowess, Vinod Khanna was a gentleman who cared deeply for those around him. Saira recalls how he always ensured the comfort and safety of the ladies on the set, "Vinod always ensured that we ladies on the sets had comfort levels while going home from the studio. One day, I sent my car back home for some important work, and unexpectedly director Atmaramji finished shooting much earlier than expected. He had a perky tiny Volkswagen and saw that my car had not arrived, he then looked at all the paraphernalia of needy things I carried with me and immediately offered his car to drive me home safely. I said, "Mera Itna Saaman Kahan Aayega, Tumahari Beautiful Choti Si Gaadi Main". So he said I will wait until your car arrives. Such a chivalrous man he was!"She added, "I remember it was a joy to see him and his wife Geetanjali while we shot outdoors at Lonavala, all of us lived together and had fun times. Later on, when he married Kavita, his second wife, they always visited us on occasions, particularly on our "Silver Wedding Anniversary" and mingled so wonderfully as one of our own family. We miss him!"Vinod Khanna, was one of the actors who could mould his persona into any character whether being a villain or charming everyone with his heroic persona in the films. It was just hard to take our eyes off when he was on screen. It's hard to describe his contribution to Indian cinema in words.Bollywood lost its strongest pillar in the form of late actor Vinod Khanna on April 27, 2017. He had delivered some of the most iconic performances, making him one of the best performers the industry has ever seen. From a dacoit to a policeman, from a lover to an angry father, Vinod never failed to impress with his acting range.Vinod Khanna's presence, both on and off-screen, is deeply missed. His legacy as a versatile actor and a kind-hearted soul lives on, cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Along with the photos and videos she penned a lengthy note. She wrote, It was a very happy and enjoyable time to have done HERA PHERI. @amitabhbachchan Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna played crafty tricksters in the movie and I played a cunning female swindler. Director Prakash Mehra let the Three of us have a free hand at all the outrageously funny scenes. I had already done a lot of work with Vinod in films such as PURAB AUR PASCHIM, AAROP, and NEHLE PE DEHLA and with Amitabh in ZAMEER.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Saira Banu Khan (@sairabanu)We had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and the Three of us would work at suggestions and improvisations to make the scenes riotously funny especially in the scenes where Vinod is constantly trying to tone down Amitabh from being overly romantic to the heroine. My own favourite scene is where I am rattling off in Marathi and Vinod is trying to curb Amitabhs zealous attempts to sit next to me. Please see and enjoy these scenes. #47YearsToHeraPheri.Hera Pheri, a comedy film was released in 1976. It was directed by Prakash Mehra and featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Saira Banu, and Pran. The story revolves around two friends, Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Ajay (Vinod Khanna), who struggle to make a living in the city. They decide to masquerade as detectives to earn money but end up getting involved in a real crime. The film follows their misadventures as they try to solve the case and deal with the various eccentric characters they encounter along the way.Saira Banu debuted on Instagram on July 7 of this year on the death anniversary of the late actor and her husband Dilip Kumar.
This movie tagged him as a lover boy and not another angry young man of Bollywood. The era he entered also witnessed the debut of legend Amitabh Bachchan. The vibe of Bollywood was dominated by late actors Vinod Khanna and Bachchan delivering action-packed and one-man army kind of movies but Rishi Kapoor decided not to join the bandwagon and create his type of cinema. The world will remember the star on his death anniversary on Sunday. So here are a few movies which make us remember Rishi Kapoor as one of the best actors of Bollywood who re-defined the concept of a Hero by breaking the typical understanding of the character being an angry young man who can beat his enemies no matter whether those are 4 or 400 in number.'Bobby'The wealthy people planning to get their son married in another rich family is nothing new. But the chaos happens when the guy loves a girl who doesn't belong to the class which is accepted by his parents. The melodrama in 'Bobby' is fantastic and it narrates how even the simplest of stories can be delivered in an exciting manner. Rishi and actress Dimple Kapadia totally aced every scene of the movie. Who doesn't remember the classic song 'Hum Tum Ek Kmare Mai BAnd ho' from this movie?'Karz'The movie 'Karz' was not any other typical love story as it delivered suspense and literal trills to the audience. The concept of getting re-born and planning up an act of revenge was the plot line of the movie. Ravi, the character played by Kapoor will always remain iconic as well as irreplaceable.'Amar Akbar Anthony'The movie which featured Rishi with two angry young men Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna makes it easier for us to understand their real standing and the kind of movies they used to deliver. Kapoor played the youngest brother in the trio and his character was all about love, love and love which was the exact opposite of other characters.'Chandni'The couple of Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor were living examples of what on-screen chemistry looks like. Even though the titular role was played by late actress Sridevi, still we can't take our eyes off Rishi's character. The movie was a giant box-office hit with tons of classic songs which we still sing when we are in absolute love with someone.'Yeh Vaada Raha'The romantic musical drama gave the audience every reason to go to back theatres. The plot of the story revolves around Vikram's (Rishi) mother not approving of his choice when it comes to making her daughter-in-law. The constant struggle is a delight to watch and narrates how you should stand up for your love no matter whether it is against someone from your family.Rishi Kapoor was the person who spread love all around with his movies and persona. These movies are just some drops from the ocean-vast filmography of the veteran.
Bollywood lost its strongest pillar in the form of late actor Vinod Khanna on April 27, 2017. He had delivered some of the most iconic performances, making him one of the best performers the industry has ever seen. From a dacoit to a policeman, from a lover to an angry father, Vinod never failed to impress with his acting range. The late actor made his acting debut in 1968 with a Sunil Dutt movie named 'Man Ka Meet'. Even after starting his career as a villain, no one was ready to accept that those pure eyes and dapper looks do not belong to a hero. Soon Vinod Khanna charmed out multiple top actors in the industry by performing brilliantly as a lead actor and gaining a crazy fan following. But whether he performed as a protagonist or not, he ultimately left an impression on his audience. While his roles in 'Mastana' and 'Sachaa Jhuthaa' in 1970 were well-received, It was his appearance in several movies in 1971 that marked a turning point. In the critically acclaimed 'Mere Apne', as Shyamu, he stood against Shatrughan Sinha in the movie as friends turned in foes and displayed the vulnerability of the angry young man.Playing a police inspector in Shammi Kapoor's 'Jaane-Anjane', the vicious dacoit Jabbar Singh in 'Mera Gaon, Mera Desh' opposite Dharmendra, and a pivotal role in Sunil Dutt's 'Reshma Aur Shera' in 1971. In 'Hum Tum aur Who', Vinod Khanna played the hero for the first time.Known for his cameo in Jeetendra's 'Parichay', but for his performance as a military officer on death row for murdering his wife and her lover in movie 'Achanak', one of the Bollywood adaptations of Nanavati case, which actually made him famous. After that, there was no turning back for him as a hero. He had previously been cast in tough roles like of a cop or a criminal, but he showed he was capable of playing soft characters. One such example can be 'Imtihaan' in 1974, where he played an idealistic college lecturer attempting to teach an undisciplined class. One song that we can relate to from his movie is 'Ruk Jaana Nahi.'Vinod Khanna established himself as Hindi cinema's first 'angry young man' before legend Amitabh Bachchan. This equation directly led to a friendly rivalry between the duo.He has worked in many movies with Big B, which were a favourite topic of discussion among Cinephiles and was a treat to watch for the audience.Even though the lovely duo can't be seen again together, we can still return to following movies to pay our heartfelt tribute to Khanna's contribution to Indian Cinema and adorable friendship with Bachchan. 'Amar Akbar Anthony': The movie 'Amar Akbar Anthony' is a classic Bollywood melodramatic movie which serves entertainment in every sense possible. Khanna and Bachchan featured as brothers who separated in their childhood and reunited decades later after destiny bring them under the same roof. Bachchan played the role of Anthony Gonsalves and Khanna was seen as Amar the eldest brother in the movie. The film also featured late actor Rishi Kapoor as the third brother from the iconic trio. The audience made 'Parvarish' a major commercial which proves the fact that people loved to watch Vinod Khanna and Bachchan play brothers on screen. The social drama also featured gems of Bollywood like Shammi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Kader Khan and Shabana Azami among others.'Muqaddar Ka Sikander'Who can ever forget the musical tracks from this movie? The story of Rags to Riches about an orphan gained massive box-office validation by becoming the third highest grosser of an entire decade, Amitabh played the role of Sikander who was an orphan and made his way through the struggles of life. Khanna's performance too got critical admiration. When talking about the duo movies, how we can forget about 'Hera Pheri', a fun movie that gained a Filmfare Award nomination for Vinod Khanna. The movie features one of the best performances by both of the actors. The film plot was about two artists applying several tactics in their life to make their way which creates a lot of chaos and entertainment for the audience.'Reshma Aur Shera'The movie directed and produced by Sunil Dutt attracted tons of awards including a National Award and a nomination for Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. Big B and former actor Khanna can be seen in power-packed roles in the film. The songs of the movie were also a massive hit at the time.Today is the late actor's death anniversary and it has been 6 years since Khanna left us leaving with a vacuum which can never be filled again.

Soon Vinod Khanna charmed out multiple top actors in the industry by performing brilliantly as a lead actor and gaining a crazy fan following. Except for his career highlights one thing which Cinephiles used to discuss was his friendship and competition with legend Amitabh Bachchan. Whenever these two talents used to work together, the audience was stunned.Today on Khanna's death anniversary let's list some top movies of this iconic duo together.'Amar Akbar Anthony'The movie 'Amar Akbar Anthony' is a classic Bollywood melodramatic movie which serves entertainment in every sense possible. Nawazuddin Siddiqui who play the arch villain in Ahmed Khans Heropanti 2 says he has paid one of his favourite actors a special tribute. Brimming over with enthusiasm Nawaz reveals, Vinod Khanna has always been one of my favourite actors. He was so handsome. I remember very early in my career I had shot with for a serialI cant remember the nameand I just couldnt stop staring at him. Ek star ka aura hota hai na? Vinod Khanna had the aura. Jamm ke (in abundance). So how has Nawaz paid Vinod Khanna a tribute? He had a certain way of walking which no other actor had. There was something masculine and delicate, almost a feminine grace in the way he walked. Ive borrowed his walk in Heropanti 2. I hope Vinod Khannajis fans would like what Ive done.Nawaz says it is important to keep learning from great actors. I am always observing actors whom I respect. Kuch na kuch unse humesha leta rehta hoon (I take something or the other from them all the time).
It is known that Salman Khan is all set to return as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 3.The shooting of the film commenced in April this year and by the end of July or August, they will reportedly wrap up the film. While all the original characters are returning in the third installment, the cast will deeply miss their beloved Vinod Khanna who essayed the role of Salmans stepfather in the film. Vinod Khanna passed away in April of 2017. Now, the makers of Dabangg 3 have roped in Pramod Khanna, Vinods brother, to essay the role of Salmans stepfather Prajapati Pandey in the film. On Thursday, the actor took to his social media to make the announcement with Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhu Deva. Introducing Pramod Khanna.. #Dabangg3 @aslisona @prabhudheva, wrote Salman Khan. Another interesting news was revealed that Salman Khan will be grooving on the song Seeti along with several policemen. Dabangg 3 , helmed by Prabhu Dheva, stars Sonakshi Sinha and Arbaaz Khan.Kannada superstar Sudeep is the antagonist in the film. The film is set for Christmas 2019 release. Dimple Kapadias return to play Salman Khan s mother in Dabangg 3 is the stupidest rumour weve heard in recent times. It seems the person who started this rumour has no idea of how the plot of the film moved. How can Dimple Kapadiaji return in Dabangg 3 when her character died in the first Dabangg film? We dont know where these rumours come from. But they make no sense. No, we dont plan to resurrect Naini Devi (Dimple Kapadias character) from the dead, says a core member of the Dabangg team. However a hunt is on to find a new actor to play Salman Khans father Prajapati Pandey after the untimely demise of Vinod Khanna who played the patriarch in both Dabangg and Dabangg 2. I have reason to believe that Salman wants Dharmendra to play his fathers role in Dabangg 3.Apparently after Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra whom Salman openly idolizes would be a perfect fit for the role. Whether the veteran actor would want to step into Vinod Khannas part or not at this juncture, is a debatable issue.
It is the second death anniversary of late veteran actor Vinod Khanna tomorrow. The actor had represented Bhartiya Janta Party in the Gurdaspur area for four terms. Sunny Deol , who recently announced that he will be a part of the said party, has received the ticket for the Gurdaspur constituency. While it is a moment of rejoicing for Sunny Deol, Vinod Khannas wife Kavita is miffed at this. Kavita was also a ticket aspirant and had expected to receive one after her husbands demise. She has expressed her dislike over this situation saying that it was unfair because Deol received his ticket within hours of joining the party. It is also disappointing for the people who were expecting Kavita to become the MP and represent the constituency. She feels betrayed because the couple had worked for the betterment of the people for over 20 years and it was hurtful that she did not receive the ticket. On the work front, Sunny Deol will be seen starring in Blank , with Karan Kapadia.
Late Bollywood actor Vinod Khannas first wife, Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khannas mom Geetanjali Khanna passed away at the age of 70 at the familys farmhouse in Maharashtras Raigad district. Akshaye and his mother were at their farmhouse this weekend when she complained of uneasiness on December 15th evening. She was taken to the hospital at Chondi village as per the statement given by Mandva police station in-charge, assistant inspector Meghna Burande. After being treated, Akshaye Khanna and Geetanjali returned to their farmhouse where Akshaye took her to the bedroom for her to take some rest. He, then, went out of the farmhouse for sometime. When he returned, he inquired with the caretaker about his mothers health. When he went to check on her, she was unconscious, the official said. He again called the doctors at the nearby hospital and his brother Rahul Khanna in Mumbai. Upon the doctors advise, they rushed her to the hospital at Alibaug where she was pronounced dead, according to Burande. The postmortem was done and the body was handed over to the family. The police official Meghna Burande said in a statement, It appeared to be a natural death, but doctors have preserved the viscera to ascertain the exact cause of demise. We recorded Rahul Khannas statement and have not found anything suspicious. The last rites of Geetanjali Khanna were performed on Sunday, December 16 in Alibaug. Last year, in April 2017, Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khannas father, veteran actor Vinod Khanna passed away after suffering from prolonged illness. He had divorced Geetanjali in 1985. In 1990, he married Kavita Khanna and had two children with her Sakshi Khanna and Shraddha Khanna.
