We just make films with complete truth and honesty. When Dada (director Sudipto Sen) showed me the complete research on Bastar I saw the data on the violence there. Like that time there was celebration in JNU. I saw a lot of other things in that research. When you see all that and on the other hand see that the intellectuals in cities are providing cover fire to the same and justifying it, you realise that 90% of the people don't know about something happening in one part of the country. I felt that it was essential to bring this issue before the people."Helmed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.Makers have exposed the truth about number of martiers and how Psudo intellectuals in our country are running a propaganda to divide the country funded by China. Now is the time to think deep.Shah and Sudipto's first collaboration 'The Kerala Story' emerged as one of the most successful films at the box office in 2023 so far. It depicts how thousands of young women were allegedly brainwashed into joining the Islamic State (IS) and heading off to countries like Syria and Afghanistan. The film is all set to hit the theatres on March 15.

"One person has controlled entire law and order situation": Vipul Shah on 'The Kerala Story' protest in Tamil Nadu

8 May 2023

The Naam Tamilar Party cadres headed by its organiser, actor and director Seeman started protests in the Chennai Anna Nagar Arch near Skywalk Mall in Chennai against the movie.Talking about the incident, filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah said in a press conference, "An individual person threatened the state government and stopped the film from being released in Tamil Nadu. Many people are calling us and saying that they want to see this film but they are not able to see it in Tamil Nadu because one person has controlled the entire law and order situation by threatening."Protesters of the NTK party raised slogans and held placards demanding a ban on the film."I want to request the DMK and Congress government to take some strict, creditable steps against it immediately and this film and release the film there tomorrow morning," Shah added. He further said, "Some people had petitioned to stop this film, but the Chennai High Court, Supreme Court has rejected it and the Kerala High Court has also not banned our film."Head of the NTK party, Seeman said that if the movie is screened in cinemas despite the protests, they would break the screens and theatres."So after the orders of these Honorable Courts, one person threatens and the entire state machinery bows down before him. Neither the police give protection to the theatres nor the government takes any action on them, so it seems to me that "daal mein kuch kaala hai"," added Vipul Shah.Seeman also appealed to the theatre owners not to run the film 'The Kerala Story' and urged people not to watch the movie. He claimed that if the movie is not banned, the NTK cadres would buy the tickets for the movie and start protesting inside the theatre."I would like to request, those who argue in favour of democracy, this film should be allowed to be released in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Ponderi without any disruption. This film is not running because of only one person. I think DMK and Congress should think about it and will their government be able to control a man and implement the Honourable High Court's order?," Shah concluded.#TheKeralaStory is UNSTOPPABLE and UNSHAKABLE... Vipul Shah makes his digital debut with a medical thriller titled Human; Shefali Shah and Kirti Kulhari to star

25 Jan 2021

Filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah has ventured into the web space with a new medical thriller show titled Human. He says the show is not about Covid but highlights medical trials that have taken place across the world for decades now. The show stars Shefali Shah and Kirti Kulhari and is directed by Shah and Mozez Singh."This project was in the works for almost three and a half years now, and back then we didn't know about the virus and the vaccine. It took us a long to write because we have tried to simplify the process of human trials of vaccines in a way that the audience understands. Today, everyone is aware of what drug trials mean," said Shah. One wonders if the show is set against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent journey of finding the vaccine and Vipul clarifies that its not set in todays time. Its not about coronavirus, but about medical trials that take place across the world for decades now. This touches a topic thats very big for humanity and the problems with drug trial is not a recent phenomenon. Its a very important subject for the society, he avers.Having come from a theatre background, Vipul made his debut as a director in 2002 with the thriller, Aankhen featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sushmita Sen, and Paresh Rawal. Since then, he has made family dramas and romcoms. And with Human, he gets back to the thriller space. The filmmaker said that the show touches on a topic that's big for humanity and the problems with drug trials are not a recent phenomenon. "Its my dream project, he beams, and adds, I used to do this kind of stuff in theatre, and with Human, I am connected back to the roots. It's a first for me on the webspace and it's completely opposite of what I have in 20 years of my Hindi film career," the filmmaker said."It's an interesting combo to play these author-backed roles. It's a new space for both Shefali and Kirti, and you haven't seen them do something like this before," said Shah, about the characters in the series. He adds that the show has helped him to connect with his roots all over again. The show went on the floors in Mumbai on January 21, and the filmmaker is gearing up to call it a wrap within a month. Mozez Singh, who is one of the many writers on board the show, is also co-directing Human with Vipul, and production is done by Sunshine. Its gearing up for a digital premiere this summer.
